Science Week 2025 at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) has come to a close, marking an exceptional edition under the theme ‘Shaping the Future’. Over the course of an intense week, more than 4,500 participants, including students, researchers, and international experts, debated the major advances and challenges facing science today.
Conferences and workshops addressed strategic themes such as artificial intelligence, scientific sovereignty in Africa, energy and mining issues, and innovation in agriculture and health. Internationally renowned figures such as Philippe Esposito (DH2 Energy) and Choukri Ben Mamoun (Yale University) shared their views on the technological changes underway.
The event also highlighted innovative projects such as AlgaTech, a revolutionary robot for recovering algae, and Ecolink, a platform connecting businesses and recyclers.
In addition to the scientific discussions, the Science Village offered an immersive experience for the general public, while the ‘The 5th Element’ exhibition explored the fusion between art and science.
Hicham El Habti, President of UM6P, concluded by emphasizing the importance of science as a lever for social and economic transformation. We look forward to seeing you in 2026 for another edition under the theme ‘Convergence(s)’.
