FIRST LEGO League 2025: Morocco prepares its future engineers

The campus of University Mohammed VI Polytechnic was alive with the rhythm of the FIRST LEGO League 2025 National Championship, a robotics competition that brought together 42 teams who had qualified after regional tournaments. Organised by the LOOP For Science & Technology Association, the event showcased the talent and creativity of young Moroccans, while preparing them to become the engineers of tomorrow.

This year, the FIRST LEGO League Challenge set the bar high with a topical theme: ocean exploration. The teams, made up of young people aged between 9 and 16, presented robotic projects and innovative solutions to the challenges of preserving and sustainably exploiting the oceans.

Speaking to Industrie du Maroc Magazine, Leila Berchane, President of the LOOP For Science & Technology Association, stressed the importance of this event for the future of Morocco. ‘Our aim today is to celebrate the young people who have come up with innovative solutions to the issue of the year: ocean exploration. These competitions are not just about technical challenges; they are a real school of life for the participants’, she said.

At the end of the competition, nine teams were selected to represent Morocco at international tournaments. First place, the most coveted prize, offers the winners the opportunity to take part in the FIRST Championship , to be held in Houston, USA .
