Al Moutmir initiative launches 6,922 demonstration platforms to support olive tree farmers

The Al Moutmir Initiative continues to expand. More than 6,922 Olive Tree Demonstration Platforms have been set up since the launch of the Al Moutmir Initiative, and more than 971 Olive Tree Demonstration Platforms have been launched in 2023-2024 for the benefit of 330 farmers. This is according to the Al Moutmir teams. In Kelaa des Sraghna alone, 54 olive tree demonstration platforms were set up during the 2023-2024 campaign.

«National olive production is forecast at 950,000 tonnes, slightly down on last year (11%) despite a severe water deficit that has persisted for 6 years. This production is 44% down on autumn 2021, when a record of 1.9 million tonnes was produced. This drop in production has affected rain-fed regions and irrigated areas», explains the same source.
