Artist Mohamed Hamidi, alongside art and culture professionals, revisits his 1978 artwork at UM6P as part of “The Fifth Element” exhibition.

This week, the contemporary African art exhibition “The Fifth Element” was presented at UM6P Campus in Benguerir, exploring the four fundamental elements—earth, sea, wind, and fire—while introducing a fifth element: art.

Artist Mohamed Hamidi, known for his influence in contemporary Moroccan and African art, took part in the exhibition, embodying the fire element. During a Ftour gathering, he discussed his work alongside Fihr Kettani, founder of Galerie 38 and president of the Federation of Cultural and Creative Industries (ICC), and Youness Khourassani, an artist from the Casablanca School.

Following the gathering, participants visited the exhibition before heading to Riad Center, where Mohamed Hamidi rediscovered an artwork he created in 1978, now part of the OCP collection exhibited at UM6P.
