Narratives of Dispossession: Datafication, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Colonization

On the 12th of February, the Institute of Advanced Studies at UM6P will host a lecture titled Narratives of Dispossession: Datafication, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Colonization with Dr. Khalil Dahbi, Research Fellow at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA).

The lecture will explore how the transformation of human activities into data impacts historical processes of dispossession, especially in the Global South. Dr. Dahbi will address the environmental, social, and political effects of datafication and AI through a critical lens combining Marxist, decolonial, and data studies perspectives.
