On the 24th of January, NBA Africa and University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, through its subsidiary Evosport, announced a collaboration to support youth basketball development in Morocco. This partnership introduced expanded youth basketball programming and established UM6P as an official partner of NBA Africa.
The collaboration will be implemented by EVOSPORT, in partnership with Act4Community, a part of OCP Group’s ecosystem. It includes the launch of four Jr. NBA leagues and Morocco’s first NBA Basketball School in Khouribga, Gantour, Laayoune, and El Jadida, reaching nearly 2,000 boys and girls under 18 annually. Over 200 local coaches will also participate in Jr. NBA Coaches Workshops in these cities.
The announcement was made at a signing ceremony at UM6P France in Paris, attended by UM6P President Hicham El Habti, NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum, NBA Africa CEO Clare Akamanzi, and Basketball Africa League President Amadou Gallo Fall.
