On the 7th of February, Prof. Raphael Liogier represented the Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS-UM6P) at the 6th International Conference on Bön Studies, held at Triten Norbutse Bon Monastery in Kathmandu and led by Prof. Charles Ramble (Oxford).
His presentation explored the Westernization of Buddhism and Bön, analyzing how meditative and shamanic practices are perceived in modern industrial societies. The discussion critically examined Western interpretations and misconceptions, offering insights into ongoing spiritual transformations.
