The winners of the 6th edition of the Teacher’s Award for 2024 were honored on Sunday at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic in Benguerir, at a ceremony presided over by the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada. Three categories of education professionals took part in this year’s event: public primary school teachers, educators specializing in inclusive education, and those from Instituts de Promotion Socio-éducative. In the “public primary education” category, 1st prize was awarded to Iqbal Ouaissa (Académie de l’Oriental), second to Ismail Bahssain (Académie de Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra), and third to Cheikh Niama Abahazem (also from Académie de Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra).
In the “Instituts de Promotion Socio-éducative” category, Zahia Kentawi (Académie de Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra) took first prize, followed by Hanane Semlali (Académie de Marrakech-Safi) for 2nd prize, and Mohamed El Aouni (from the same Académie) for 3rd. In the “school inclusion” category, 1st prize went to Hakima Haskouri (Académie de Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima), 2nd to Ibtissam Faraji (Académie de Marrakech-Safi), and 3rd to Abdelrahim Adardrar (Académie de Souss-Massa).
On this occasion, Minister Mohamed Saad Berrada paid tribute to the active commitment and unfailing support of the various players and partners, who have helped give this educational event a growing reputation since its inception. He stressed that improving the quality of education, one of the priorities of the 2022-2026 roadmap, depends on the collective mobilization of all players in the education sector. The Minister also stressed the importance of adopting innovative pedagogical approaches in line with current developments, pointing out that educational projects based on creativity, innovation, and collaboration contribute effectively to the development of pupils.
Organized by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, in partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Promotion of Social Works in Education and Training, the Zahid Foundation, and the Association des Amis de l’École Publique, the award aims to recognize and encourage educational managers for their outstanding contribution through classroom projects that have a positive and tangible impact on student learning.
Encouragement prizes have also been awarded since the 4th edition to reward outstanding regional initiatives in the “public primary education” category.
