Morocco empowers caribbean agriculture through digital innovation and South-South cooperation

Morocco is strengthening its agricultural cooperation with Caribbean countries by organizing an intensive training course for agricultural executives from five island nations. The aim is to provide participants with skills that will enable them to optimize the management of agricultural resources in their respective countries.

The program, set up by the Ministry of Agriculture, Sea Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is part of a partnership aimed at sharing the Kingdom’s know-how in advanced agricultural technologies.

The training, the fruit of cooperation between the National Institute for Agronomic Research (INRA), the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), and the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), focuses on the use of geographic information systems and digital tools for mapping soil fertility.

This initiative is part of Morocco’s wider strategy of South-South cooperation, aimed at supporting food security and sustainable development in developing countries.
