I always loved statistical modeling, but my story with Machine Learning started when I was a student and discovered a “new” model called Neural Network: a different way to generate predictions without explicitly writing a specific formula behind it. I liked the concept of creating models that mimic the human’s way of learning.
Machine Learning (ML) was not yet well-known at that time and was more like a science fiction research project. Now, thanks to the advancement of technology and the huge amount of data that is generated, and the development of computational capacity, ML, and AI in general, is showing a huge capacity to change and develop different fields like healthcare, agriculture, labor market or industry.
We can say that ML has a transformative impact on our society.
