On July 15, 2025, UM6P convened a dedicated session in Geneva, focused on expanding the UM6P Associates Network and deepening ties with Moroccan professionals and institutional partners based in Switzerland. The gathering brought together a diverse group of scientists, innovators, and strategic actors aligned with UM6P’s mission to co-build Africa’s scientific and entrepreneurial future.
Part of a broader series of engagements across major European cities, the Geneva meeting explored avenues for collaboration in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
From climate resilience and sustainable agriculture to health systems and food security, discussions emphasized the value of diaspora expertise in shaping high-impact solutions for Africa.
The session also highlighted the importance of knowledge transfer and co-design mechanisms that enable Moroccan competencies abroad to integrate meaningfully into the national innovation ecosystem. Through the UM6P Associates program—accessible via UM6P Associates—members gain structured access to UM6P’s research platforms, academic partnerships, and venture opportunities.

In Geneva, as in Oslo and other cities, the message was clear: engaging the Moroccan diaspora is not just about connection—it’s about co-construction. A dynamic future for African science and innovation will emerge through networks that are global in scope, and local in purpose.
