UM6P Marks World Food Day 2025 with a Commitment to Sustainable and Nutritious Food for All

As part of the #UM6P_ENGAGED initiative, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic joined the global movement to celebrate the 45th edition of World Food Day, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The celebration seeks to raise awareness about critical global challenges such as hunger, malnutrition, and food insecurity.
Held under the theme “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future,” this year’s edition emphasizes the deep interconnections between food production, environmental resilience, and public health.
To mark this occasion, UM6P is illuminating its campuses in Benguerir, Rabat, and Laayoune in blue, symbolizing its dedication to promoting safe, nutritious, and sustainable food for all.
Through its focus on research and innovation in agriculture and resource management, UM6P drives collaboration among governments, farmers, researchers, and civil society to strengthen food systems capable of meeting the needs of a growing global population—while preserving the planet’s resources for future generations.
Aligned with the FAO’s vision, UM6P reaffirms its commitment to advancing food security, nutrition, and sustainable development. The university also encourages its community to play an active role by reducing food waste, supporting responsible agricultural practices, and promoting inclusive food systems that ensure equitable access to nutritious food for everyone.
