UM6P formalized maritime R&D collaboration with Maghreb Steel and Naval Group in Rabat

On July 9th, the UM6P campus in Rabat hosted a significant milestone for Morocco’s maritime ambitions. UM6P signed a preliminary R&D cooperation agreement with two key industrial players: Maghreb Steel, a national leader in steel manufacturing, and Naval Group, a global reference in naval defense and innovation.

This strategic partnership aims to support Morocco’s industrial sovereignty by strengthening research and development in materials science, advanced manufacturing, and naval structures. The agreement lays the foundation for a shared innovation ecosystem, aligned with the national vision for a robust and autonomous maritime industrial base.

By linking academia and industry, this collaboration reflects UM6P’s continued commitment to impact-driven research and cross-sector innovation. Representatives from all three institutions attended the signing ceremony in Rabat, officially launching this joint effort to shape the future of maritime technology in Morocco and beyond.
