A multidisciplinary effort aligning with the Global One Health Day

On November 3, 2025, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic officially launched the One Health Initiative at its Benguerir campus, under the endorsement of the Office of the President. The framework promotes an integrated approach to health — recognizing the interdependence between human, animal, and environmental systems.
Coinciding with the Global Celebration of One Health Day, the launch featured an overview of the initiative’s mission, its multidisciplinary working group, and two cornerstone sessions:
- A panel discussion titled “Bridging Systems for a Healthier Planet,” and
- A webinar presented by Dr. Julie Garnier on “One Health for a Sustainable and Resilient Future with Nature: Now Is the Time.”
The panel brought together Prof. Mustapha El Bouhssini, Prof. Joann Karen Whalen, Prof. Mohamed Chaker Necibi, Prof. Malika Kheireddine, and Prof. Sanae Benmkaddem, who explored the intersections of soil systems, water, oceans, circularity, remote sensing, and human health — setting a collaborative foundation for the initiative’s next phase.
Looking ahead, UM6P will organize a monthly series of events under the One Health framework, fostering continuous dialogue, research, and knowledge exchange to advance a sustainable and resilient future with nature.
