AI Meets Industry: A New Chapter Between UM6P and Tanger Med
On July 30, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and Tanger Med Group signed a new strategic agreement, deepening a partnership that began in 2021 with the launch of the 1337 MED Campus. This new phase marks a significant step forward in aligning AI education with real-world industrial needs.
At the heart of this collaboration is the AI Tanger Med Program, a dynamic initiative where students from the 1337 MED Campus co-develop applied solutions alongside researchers from the UM6P AI Lab.
Their mission? To tackle concrete operational challenges in artificial intelligence, automation, data analysis, and cybersecurity—all within the highly complex and fast-paced Tanger Med ecosystem.
This hands-on model is designed to connect advanced training with field immersion. Students gain direct exposure to real-time industrial workflows, while Tanger Med mobilizes its operational partners to define relevant, impactful case studies.
The program not only fosters applied innovation across ports, logistics, and industrial sectors, but also prepares a new generation of engineers to transform technical skills into agile, solution-driven responses to sector-specific problems.
