
University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), OCP Fertilizantes, OCP Nutricrops, and the Brazilian Agricultural Research Enterprise (Embrapa) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening research and development in the field of sustainable agriculture. The aim of the partnership is to provide innovative solutions to the global challenges of food security and environmental sustainability.
The agreement provides for the implementation of joint projects focusing on the transfer of advanced agricultural technologies, the training of researchers and students, as well as the improvement of nutrient efficiency and the promotion of environmentally friendly practices. The partnership also aims to promote the exchange of knowledge between Morocco and Brazil, thereby strengthening South-South cooperation.

By mobilizing the most advanced knowledge and technologies, we are working to shape a future in which agriculture becomes a driver of prosperity, resilience, and balance for our planet’, said Hicham El Habti, President of UM6P.
Initiatives for sustainable agriculture
Initiatives planned under the agreement include the development of innovative fertilizers, the application of digital farming techniques, crop biofortification, and the promotion of the circular economy in the agricultural sector. A scholarship program will also be set up to encourage academic exchanges and enhance the skills of researchers and students from both countries.
