Transformative research on prenatal diagnosis and early-life interventions
A scientific breakthrough expanding the boundaries of fetal and neonatal medicine

A new study has identified nearly 300 genetic disorders that can be treated during pregnancy or within the first week after birth. This work lays the foundation for a “treatable fetal findings list” that could be offered to expectant patients.
According to researchers from Harvard Medical School, Mass General Brigham (a Harvard affiliate), and Duke University School of Medicine, the findings could improve prenatal diagnosis of genetic conditions and expand treatment options for affected fetuses.
