UM6P at the Africa CEO Forum 2025: Forging Public-Private Synergies for Africa’s Future
On the 12th and 13th of May, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) took part in the Africa CEO Forum in Abidjan, which gathered over 2,000 policymakers, investors, and business leaders from across Africa and beyond. The central theme of this year’s forum was: “Can a New Public-Private Deal Reshape the Future of the Continent?”

Championing Talent Development for Industrial Growth
President Hicham El Habti represented UM6P during the high-level roundtable titled “A workforce for digital and industrial growth: Realising ROI in talent development.” He emphasized the critical role of universities in bridging the gap between academic excellence and market-relevant skills, with a focus on empowering Africa’s youth to drive the continent’s transformation.
AI for Governance: A Vision Grounded in Action
Mr. Khalid Baddou, Chief of Staff and Director of Institutional Affairs at UM6P, spoke on the panel “AI-powered African governments: A future vision or a pipe dream?” He underlined the urgency for Africa to invest in its own AI capabilities and presented real-world applications of AI in governance that can foster public trust, help governments understand the benefits, and manage risks effectively.
