Lausanne Event Showcases Euro-African Synergies in Science and Innovation

On April 4–5, EPFL in Lausanne hosted the “Grandes Écoles Summit,” a two-day gathering dedicated to research and euro-African cooperation. With UM6P featured at the center of keynotes and discussions, the event reinforced growing academic partnerships between Europe and Africa.

On the 4th and 5th of April, the “EPFL x Paris: Grandes Écoles Summit” took place at EPFL in Lausanne, focusing on research, innovation, and euro-African scientific cooperation.

Initiated by the Association des Polytechniciens Marocains de Lausanne (APML), in partnership with FIRSI and UM6P France, the event featured keynote talks by Jérôme Chenal on the EPFL–UM6P collaboration, and Professor Rachid Guerraoui on Morocco–Switzerland cooperation in computer science.

Following the keynote sessions, representatives from the UM6P leadership and the Ibn Rochd Foundation for Science and Innovation (FIRSI) also took part in the discussions, further reinforcing the shared ambition to strengthen academic and scientific ties between Africa and Europe. The summit gathered students, researchers, and institutions from both continents for dialogue and exchange.
