Where solidarity becomes strategy—and communities shape their own future
It begins not with capital, but with conviction. In rural villages, remote cooperatives, and women-led communities, something powerful is taking root: a new economy driven by solidarity rather than scale. On July 5th, the International Day of Cooperatives, the OCP Foundation cast a spotlight on this silent revolution—one it has helped nurture for over a decade.

Across Morocco and nine countries of the Global South, the Foundation’s vision is simple yet bold: make cooperation a lever for autonomy, resilience, and sustainable growth. This isn’t about charity. It’s about co-creation—supporting real people with real tools to lead their own transformation. Whether it’s training farmers in Côte d’Ivoire, mentoring women artisans in Cap-Vert, or helping cooperatives digitize in Morocco, the OCP Foundation is betting on people, not just projects.
At the heart of its approach is deep listening and territorial anchoring. Before launching a program, the Foundation engages in participatory diagnostics, walks the fields, sits with communities. Because genuine development, it believes, only begins once you understand what’s already growing.
