This project is co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the Government of Finland, and is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO Morocco), in partnership with the Circle Economy Foundation, Chatham House, the European Investment Bank (EIB), and Executive Education STH.

In Morocco, the implementation of the project is carried out in close coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade – Morocco, which is particularly involved in developing circular value chains in industrial sectors, including plastic packaging, which is the focus of this initiative.

We also had the honor of welcoming Mr. Zakaria HACHLAF, Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development – Kingdom of Morocco, who opened the session by highlighting national priorities regarding circular economy and green transition.

He emphasized the strategic importance of training trainers as a powerful lever for disseminating and multiplying efforts toward sustainable development.

The opening session also featured the participation of the project’s international partners.

The European Union Delegation to Morocco underlined the importance of this initiative within the framework of the EU–Morocco Green Partnership, as a concrete example of cooperation for sustainable development.

The Embassy of Finland, co-donor of the project, reaffirmed its country’s commitment to the circular economy, considered a shared priority with Morocco.

Finally, the UNIDO Morocco representative recalled that this action is fully aligned with the Country Partnership Programme (PCP) signed between UNIDO and the Kingdom, where the circular economy is one of the main axes of industrial transformation.

In this vivid snapshot of the SWITCH2CE Training of Trainers, learning unfolds not as instruction, but as ignition. Trainers become changemakers, and sessions morph into labs of transformation, where Morocco’s ambitions for a circular economy take human shape. Between insight shared and visions aligned, these captured moments celebrate the birth of a movement, where every exchange carries the weight of a greener tomorrow—and every participant becomes a vector of impact.
