As the world marks World Science Day for Peace and Development, UM6P proudly joins the global celebration, reaffirming its mission to place science and innovation at the heart of sustainable progress.
This day, initiated by UNESCO, underscores the essential role of science in building peace, fostering dialogue, and addressing humanity’s shared challenges. For UM6P, it is also a reflection of its identity as a research-centered university dedicated to advancing knowledge for the benefit of Africa and the world.
Science as a Catalyst for Sustainable Growth
Since its creation, UM6P has embraced a model built on research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, designed to tackle the continent’s most pressing needs. Between 2018 and 2025, the University has recorded remarkable growth — from fewer than 300 students to over 8,700, from 93 publications to more than 6,800, and from 38 to nearly 300 research and development projects.
This evolution mirrors UM6P’s commitment to excellence, collaboration, and tangible impact, making it a beacon for scientific advancement and sustainable transformation in Africa.
Vision 2030 and BHAG 2040: Science with a Purpose
Looking to the future, UM6P’s Vision 2030 and Big Hair Audacious Goal (BHAG 2040) outline an ambitious roadmap to position Morocco and Africa as global actors in science and innovation. These strategies focus on high-impact areas such as artificial intelligence, health, green energy, and sustainable agriculture, where research can directly improve lives and shape resilient economies.
Through this vision, UM6P continues to empower new generations of scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators, united by the belief that science is not only a discipline but a pathway to peace and shared prosperity.
