A new chapter in innovation and talent development for a smarter, data-driven, and sustainable mining industry

University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) and OCP SBU Mining have signed two strategic framework agreements designed to accelerate the transformation of the mining sector and reinforce the Group’s long-term innovation strategy.
The first agreement marks the launch of the AI4Mining Accelerated Research Center – AI4ALL, an extension of the AI-Accelerated Research Center (AI-ARC) jointly established by OCP and UM6P. This new research hub aims to deepen the integration of artificial intelligence across mining operations, advancing data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
Bringing together researchers, engineers, data scientists, students, and entrepreneurs, AI4ALL will focus on converting research into actionable solutions in geological exploration, predictive maintenance, mine planning, energy efficiency, supply chain optimization, and safety systems.
The second agreement launched the Mining Future of Skills Program (2026–2027) — a capability-building initiative that prepares a future-ready workforce through upskilling, reskilling, and professional certification in key domains such as automation, AI, and sustainable mining operations. By 2027, the program will define pathways to nearly 50 emerging roles, fostering close collaboration between UM6P, SBU Mining, and industrial partners.
Together, these frameworks reflect a shared vision to bridge academic research with industrial application, promoting innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in mining. Through these initiatives, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic and OCP SBU Mining reaffirm their commitment to shaping the next generation of intelligent and responsible mining.
