University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) today hosted a major conference entitled “Exploring Digital Public Infrastructures for Morocco”, a key event in imagining and building the country’s digital future. Held on the Rabat campus, the initiative brought together renowned experts, national and international institutions, and local startups to analyze the transformative role of digital public infrastructures (DPIs) in Morocco’s socio-economic development.

Co-organized by UM6P’s Digital Ecosystem Office and the Fondation Marocaine du Préscolaire (FMPS), with the strategic support of Google Cloud, the conference highlighted the unique opportunities offered by IPNs to stimulate innovation, strengthen economic growth, and guarantee inclusive and equitable access to public services.

Based on interoperable and scalable systems, digital public infrastructures have proven their effectiveness in several countries. In particular, the conference looked at emblematic models such as the Aadhaar program and the UPI payment system in India, which have not only promoted social inclusion but also transformed public services through increased transparency.

Speakers highlighted how these global examples could inspire a successful digital transition in Morocco, based on tailor-made solutions adapted to the local context.
